History about Pablo Escobar
Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria (born in Rionegro, 1949 – died in Medellin, 1993) was a Colombian drug lord who built an empire known as the Medellin Cartel. Beyond being responsible for the production and distribution of over 80% of the cocaine sent to the United States, he was also known for ordering the bombing of Avianca Flight 203 and countless other violent acts in Colombia.
On December 2, 1993, he was apprehended in a Medellin neighborhood. While his life story has many versions, our tour focuses strictly on the historical context of the drug trafficking era.
